Melinda Reay graduated with her Bachelors of Science, Cum Laude in Social Studies Composite Teaching from Utah State University. She originally grew up in western Idaho, where she played varsity softball and worked at her family's equestrian center. There she trained horses, helped manage the farm, and taught children and adults how to ride horses. Before working at Roots, she was able to be an intern for the Walt Disney Co. in Lake Buena Vista, Florida at Disney's Hollywood Studios. While attending Utah State, she met her husband Mark at a football game, and were married nine months later. They both enjoy camping, hiking, and duck hunting with their yellow lab, Maverick. In her spare time, she enjoys attending Real Salt Lake matches, going on trips to Walt Disney World and California, being in the outdoors, marathoning TV series with her husband, playing with the dog, watching sea otters, going on cruises, and attending University of Utah Red Rocks gymnastics meets.
